The Pakistan Army saved thirteen lives in a helicopter rescue mission amid worsening floods triggered by recent heavy rainfall across Punjab on Thursday.
As several regions faced critical flood situations, the Army swiftly stepped in to aid affected citizens, launching immediate and coordinated rescue operations.
In Rawalpindi, an army helicopter successfully rescued a family stranded in floodwaters along Chakri Road.
The affected family had taken refuge on the roof of their home in the village of Ladian as water levels surged dangerously.
Despite harsh weather conditions, the Pakistan Army’s aerial mission was carried out with precision, bringing all three trapped individuals to safety.
In another rescue effort, the army deployed a helicopter to the village of Dhok Badir in the Burhan stream area of Jhelum.
Here, rising floodwaters had trapped around 25 people, with ten individuals airlifted to safety during the initial phase of the operation.
The relentless monsoon rains have caused the Burhan stream to overflow, submerging the nearby village and placing residents in grave danger.
Army rescue teams, equipped with helicopters, quickly responded by providing life jackets and emergency supplies to those still stranded.
The Pakistan Army, in coordination with local authorities, continues to monitor the situation closely.
Residents in low-lying areas have been urged to remain vigilant and follow all official safety instructions as rescue and relief efforts continue.
