A terrorist was killed and another arrested when security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Kanju area in Swat on Wednesday. 

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), media wing of the Pakistan Army, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in Kanju, Swat, on confirmation of presence of terrorists in the area. During the exchange of fire, terrorist Mukarram was killed and his accomplice was arrested. 

Two residents of Swat were martyred when they came in the line of fire during the operation. According to ISPR, both terrorists were associated with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat and had been involved in terror attacks on security forces and law enforcement agencies, demolition of schools, extortion and target killings.
