PM Imran orders agencies to monitor activities inside Sindh House

Making it clear that the government would not allow ‘horse trading’, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday ordered the federal agencies to keep an eye on activities inside the Sindh House in Islamabad where the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is reportedly keeping the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) members of the National Assembly (MNAs) in order to produce them in the assembly on the day of voting on the no-trust motion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the meeting the prime minister chaired in Islamabad, Imran Khan was informed about the presence of Sindh Police personnel in and around the Sindh House. 

PM Imran said confidently that the people were with him, and that by the grace of The Almighty Allah he would foil the no-confidence motion.

Meanwhile, jawans of Sindh Police have tightened the security and completely disallowed the entry of guests in the Sindh House.

According to sources, the prime minister has tasked Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Defence Minister Pervaiz to woo back the disgruntled lawmakers of the ruling party.

The participants of the meeting reposed their confidence in the leadership of the prime minister and authorized him to take any decision to protect the government.

Sources told 24News that participants of the meeting, including the prime minister, were stunned when the names of those MNAs who had ‘defected’ to the opposition were read out before them.

They further disclosed that details of the ‘horse trading’ reportedly being done by the opposition parties were also shared with the premier on the occasion. 

The participants advised the prime minister to call parliamentary party’s meeting since this would give a clear idea to the government as to how many MNAs were still its supportive.

There were reports of some of the MNAs missing. By convening the meeting these legislators could be identified, the participants suggested, and said that those who had switched their loyalties at this juncture had put their political career at stake, and the people would never forgive them. 

PM Imran said he was sure he would be able to woo ‘estranged’ members of the PTI. “I have held meetings with leaders of the allied parties, and will continue to do so in days to come,” he told the meeting. 

Following briefing by the PTI’s team of legal experts, it was decided to convene the National Assembly session on March 21.
