SCBA moves SC for peaceful voting on no-trust motion

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Thursday filed a constitutional petition in the Supreme Court (SC), in which it was prayed to the court to order the ruling PTI and the opposition parties to avoid ‘confrontation’ and complete voting on the no-trust motion in the National Assembly (NA) in a peaceful manner, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In the petition, in which the interior ministry, ministry of defence, inspector general of police (IGP) and deputy commissioner, Islamabad were made the respondents, the SCBA said that although ousting a prime minister through a no-confidence motion was guaranteed under article-95 of the constitution, still if the statements being made by the politicians these days were taken into account, ‘conflict’ between the political parties’ workers was feared on the day the motion would be tabled in the assembly.
