Soon after attacks by militants on a military checkpost in North Waziristan on Saturday that claimed the lives of seven Pakistan Army personnel and officers, a political party started spreading hatred against the army on social media, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A campaign was unleashed on social media accounts against the army in which martyred officers and jawans were insulted and derogatory language was used against them. It is no secret that in the past, too, miscreants, associated with that party, have launched such malicious propaganda against the army.

It was the same party that disseminated an anti-state narrative following an attack by TTP militants on the Pakistan Airforce airbase in Mianwali.   

However, after a strong reaction came from the masses, the hate content was removed from these accounts.

Hitherto, social media activists belonging to the same party ridiculed the army’s officers and jawans who had lost their lives in a chopper crash in Lasbela Balochistan on September 26, 2022.   

Seven Pak Army officers and personnel, including Lt Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Badar, were martyred in an attack by militants on a security checkpost in Mir Ali area in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Saturday, while security forces, in the counter-attack, killed all six militants who had targeted the checkpost.

According to ISPR’s hand out, a group of terrorists rammed a vehicle full of explosives into the checkpost and simultaneously carried out suicide attacks, resulting in the total collapse of the checkpost.

As a result, at least five army jawans were martyred.

After the terrorists attacks, security clearance operation was started under the guidance of Lt Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and all of 6 terrorists were killed by the security forces. However, during cross firing with terrorists, Lt Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Badar embraced martyrdom.

According to ISPR, 39-year old Lt Colonel Syed Kashif Ali was resident of Karachi while Captain Muhammad Badar belonged to Talagang area of Chakwal district. While the other martyred included Hawaldar Sabir from Khyber district, Naik Khursheed from Lakki Marwat, Sepoy Raja from Peshawar, and Sepoy Sajjad was a resident of Abbottabad.

ISPR further said that the Pakistan Army was committed to eradicate terrorism from the country. While the sacrifices of jawan further strengthened the mission of Pakistan’s army against terrorists.
