Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday strongly condemned the attack by militants on the Pakistan Army’s checkpost in North Waziristan and expressed its condolences over the loss of lives of seven brave soldiers who laid down their lives while repulsing the attack, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a statement, the party’s spokesman expressed grief and deep shock over the deaths of army jawans and officers in multiple suicide attacks carried out by the militants.

The spokesman further said that the security forces personnel deserved praise and adoration for facing the onslaught by militants manfully. “These brave personnel by acting timely foiled the nefarious designs of militants,” he said, adding, “The sacrifices given by the army personnel and the nation in the fight against terrorism is no secret.”

The spokesman was of the view that the surge witnessed in the acts of terrorism in the country, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, in recent times, made it necessary that those in power chalk out an effective strategy to deal with the menace.

He went on to say that militants and miscreants, through their cowardly acts, wanted to destabilize the country from within.

The spokesman said that the Pakistani nation stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces in the war on terrorism, and was determined to defeat them by remaining steadfast and united.

He prayed to the Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant patience to their families.
