Private school owner sentenced to death in Jhang rape and blackmail case

In a major development, the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Asma Tahseen has sentenced a private school owner, Muhammad Owais Hashmi, to death in a case involving the rape and blackmailing of female students and a female teacher.

According to court proceedings, the convict was found guilty of sexually assaulting the victims and subsequently blackmailing them by recording obscene videos.

The case, registered at Kotwali Police Station in 2024, involved serious allegations that led to a prolonged trial.

The court announced the verdict after an extensive hearing, during which evidence and testimonies were examined in detail. Officials stated that the accused had deliberately targeted vulnerable victims and continued to exploit them through blackmail.
