Newly-elected AJK PM to take oath tomorrow

The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir will be held tomorrow at 11 AM, sources confirmed, amid new developments regarding the absence of the President of the State.

According to constitutional practice, the President administers the oath to the Prime Minister.

However, President Barrister Sultan Mahmood is reportedly unable to attend the ceremony in Muzaffarabad due to illness. Sources said the President has formally excused himself from participating.

In his absence, Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar will administer the oath, as he holds the constitutional authority to do so. Arrangements for the ceremony have been finalised, and the process of forming the new cabinet will begin immediately afterwards.
