Punjab farmers put off protest after talks with govt

The Kisan Board called off their protest following negotiations with the Punjab government.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Punjab Agriculture Minister Hussain Jahanian showed up at the sit-in.
The government has assured the protesters of addressing their concerns and fulfil their demands
The minister said he has always been protecting the rights of farmers and he will do so.
The negotiations were successful and work on the demands of the Kisan Board will start soon.
The Kisan Board rep also confirmed calling off the sit-in, saying: “We have spoken to the minister. If our demands are not met, we will take to the streets again.”
Later the farmers left for their homes and GOR 1 Chowk was opened for traffic.
