The Little Library Books printed for primary schools at a cost of Rs20million are missing from schools, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.

According to details, the school education department has printed 76000 Little Library Books with on book costing Rs2500.

The project was launched in 2020 by the School Education Department.

The schools were provided with 10 library books per school in 2020 and 12 books in 2021.

However, not a single library book has been provided to the schools for the academic year 2022.

Currently, there is a severe shortage of library books for children to read in the primary schools.

The primary teachers demanded immediate provision of library books for the first class.

They said most of the books have been ripped and some have been taken home by the children.

The School Education Department has asked the schools to send their demand for little library books to the Department and the little library books will be provided immediately.
