Sardar Yousaf says India's state‑backed persecution of minorities alarming
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has described the increasing state sponsored persecution of Muslims and other minorities in India as alarming.
Talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriot in Islamabad, he said Pakistan has taken significant steps to promote interfaith harmony by increasing the participation of minorities in all sectors.
He said we are very proud of our rich traditions and cultural heritage, where we have immense respect for religious and faith-based diversity.
The British High Commissioner said Pakistan and the UK can benefit from each other’s experiences in promoting interfaith harmony. She said we can offer exchange programs and scholarships in the UK for madrassa graduates.
