Bodybuilder Shehroz Khan wins gold in Thailand; Pakistanis celebrate victory
Pakistani bodybuilder Shehroz Khan made the nation proud by winning the gold medal in the 70+ kilogram weight category at the prestigious Mr Universe competition held in Pattaya, Thailand.
Shehroz, hailing from Malir, Karachi, outperformed strong international contenders to claim the top spot and proudly raised the Pakistani flag on the global stage.
On his return to Pakistan, Shehroz Khan received a hero’s welcome at Karachi Airport, where he was greeted by his family, supporters, and MQM-P lawmaker Shariq Jamal.
Speaking to the media, the champion expressed gratitude: “I cannot thank Allah enough for this success. Winning a gold medal abroad is never easy. Strict diet, hard training, and the prayers of my family and coach made this possible.”
Shariq Jamal praised the young athlete’s achievement, promising to raise his voice in the Sindh Assembly to ensure Shehroz receives recognition and financial support from the government for future competitions.
The victory has sparked renewed calls for authorities to provide greater facilities and opportunities to Pakistan’s bodybuilding talent so they can continue to shine at international arenas.
