Zara Noor Abbas joins Hadiqa Kiani in slamming ‘dirty donation culture’
Zara Noor Abbas has lent her voice to Hadiqa Kiani’s criticism of what they describe as ‘dirty donation culture,’ urging people to show respect and empathy when giving to those in need.
Taking to Instagram, Zara reshared a reel posted by Hadiqa, which highlighted the poor quality of donations sent for flood survivors.
“Unbelievable how people think about the less privileged. And donate accordingly,” Zara captioned.
She added: This is exactly how some people behave with their staff. And this is as ugly a crime as any other.”
Hadiqa Kiani, who has been actively involved in flood relief efforts across Pakistan, has been documenting her journey of collecting and distributing aid.
While she has received significant support, the singer pointed out disturbing practices where people donated rags, torn shoes, and unusable items under the guise of charity.
In her reel, Kiani condemned such behaviour, saying that donating worthless or disrespectful items strips the act of giving of its dignity and compassion.
Her message sparked conversation on social media, with many applauding her for bringing attention to a long-overlooked issue.
Reports said the unprecedented floods have left behind a trail of devastation across Pakistan, with nearly 946 lives lost and millions displaced since late June 2025.
According to estimates, the country has suffered damages of more than Rs409 billion, wiping out crops worth Rs 302 billion and severely hitting the agriculture sector.
Roads, bridges, and communication networks sustained losses of Rs 97.6 billion, while housing damage is valued at Rs8.95 billion, affecting thousands of families. The livestock sector also recorded losses of nearly Rs0.5 billion.
