Moeen Ali chooses PSL over IPL to gain more playing time

England all-rounder Moeen Ali said he opted to play in the Pakistan Super League instead of the Indian Premier League to secure more game time and maintain his form at a crucial stage of his career, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

In an interview, Moeen said he featured in only half of the matches during the previous IPL season and had limited opportunities to bat, which influenced his decision to skip the tournament this year.

He added that while representing Kolkata Knight Riders last season, he struggled to find consistent chances.

“At this stage, I want to play more and keep my rhythm going,” Moeen said, noting that consistent match exposure was vital for sustaining performance levels.

The 38-year-old all-rounder said he remains motivated to continue playing and improving. “I still want to play, perform better and extend my career,” he said.
