Officials advise motorists to confirm road conditions before leaving for intercity journeys

Dense fog has continued to disrupt the flow of traffic in Punjab, prompting the closure of several sections of the motorways, reported 24NewsHD TV channel o Sunday.

The section of Motorway M-2 from Lahore to Khanqa Dogara, Lahore-Multan Motorway from Faizpur to Samundri, Lahore-Sialkot Motorway M-11, Motorway M-5 from Sher Shah Interchange to Guddu Interchange have been closed due to fog.

Officials advised motorists to confirm road conditions before leaving for intercity journeys as different sections of the motorways were closed.

The Motorway Police spokesman said that road users should use fog lights in front and back of vehicles.

He advised road users to contact 130 for any sort of help and information, adding that information can also be acquired through “Police Hamsafar” app.

Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country.

Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, While, very cold in northern areas and north Balochistan. Foggy conditions are likely to persist over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours. Frost is likely to occur at isolated places in the Pothohar region during morning hours.
