Ariana Grande gears up for NYC cold in first ‘SNL’ promo ahead of hosting return

American singer Ariana Grande has officially kicked off the countdown to her upcoming Saturday Night Live hosting appearance with the release of her first promotional clip. The lighthearted teaser shows the singer and actress embracing New York City’s winter chill alongside SNL cast member Ashley Padilla.

In the promo, the 32-year-old Wicked: For Good star is invited to join several cast members for a festive outing to see the iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Ashley sets the scene as she asks Ariana, “A bunch of us are gonna go throw snowballs at Ben Marshall and then go look at the tree, you wanna come?”

Clearly excited by the idea, Ariana responds, “Oh my god, the Rockefeller tree? Yeah, I would love that. I haven’t seen it yet.”

Ashley then gives Ariana a heads-up about the cold weather, advising her to bundle up before heading out. The clip cuts to Ariana layering on multiple winter essentials while keeping an eye on a weather app that shows the temperature steadily dropping, adding a humorous touch to the seasonal struggle.

The upcoming episode will mark Ariana’s third time hosting Saturday Night Live, making it a highly anticipated return. Adding to the excitement, the episode will also feature Cher as the musical guest.

Interestingly, the night before the promo was released, Ariana was spotted out in New York City wearing the same Margiela x H&M puffer coat seen in the clip, as she exited a cast dinner, subtly tying real life to the on-screen moment and fueling fan excitement ahead of the show.
