Pak exports to Afghanistan plunge 40pc under Taliban govt

Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan are reported to have suffered a blow with an estimated 40 percent annual decrease within the first five months of the Taliban government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

As per the details, Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan were around $257 million between September 2021 and January 2022, whereas, these exports were reported to have been near $428 million between September 2020 and January 2021.

In the first month of 2022, Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan dropped from around $78 million in January 2021 to approximately $27 million with a 66 percent annual decrease.

In the month of September 2021, Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan witnessed a 48 percent decrease with almost $49 million as total export volume. In September 2020, the total export volume was almost $95 million.

In the month of October 2021, Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan fell from $93 million in October 2020 to approximately $50 million.

In the month of November 2021, Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan witnessed a decrease from $80 million in November 2020 to approximately $70 million with an 11 per cent annual decrease.

In the month of December 2021, Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan suffered a decline from $89 million in December 2020 to $59 million with a 34 percent annual decrease.
