Court acquits all lawyers in 2021 Islamabad High Court attack case
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad has acquitted all lawyers accused in the 2021 alleged attack on the Islamabad High Court (IHC), reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Tuesday.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra conducted the hearing and dismissed all charges against the accused lawyers, including former Islamabad High Court Bar President Raja Zahid, Chaudhry Ayub, Arbab Gujar, and former Secretary District Bar Association, among others.
The lawyers had earlier challenged the rejection of their acquittal plea in the Islamabad High Court, which ruled in their favour.
The defence then requested the ATC judge to acquit all accused, leading to today’s verdict.
During the proceedings, Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra remarked, "I acquit all the lawyers in this case. This is the love of the legal fraternity, and I am just returning it."
