A female student living in a private hostel in Lahore committed suicide over an unknown reasons, reported City42 TV channel on Monday.

According to police, the 24-year-old Iqra, a resident of Mohalla Lal Jahanian Melsi, was studying at a private university in Lahore.

Police said that Iqra's father had passed away and she was staying in a private hostel in Township.

On Monday, her body was found hanging from a fan in her hostel room.

Police have started further investigation from all aspects including suicide and murder.

“Facts will come to light after the postmortem report and investigation,” police said.
