PTI leader Shahbaz Gill, who had been arrested from Muzaffargarh for violating Section 144, was released on a court order, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.

Upon his release, Shehbaz Gill said that he wants to ask Imran Khan for the Ministry of Interior to end all the arrogance of Punjab interior minister Atta Tarar.

However, he said he has forgiven Atta Tarar.

Gill was arrested from Muzaffargarh for walking with a procession of armed personnel wearing official uniforms. Confirming his arrest, Gill said he was surrounded by the police and practically he is under arrest.

Earlier, in a tweet Shahbaz Gill said: “A heavy contingent of police arrived in PP-272. Shahbaz Gill is trapped in a factory. I am not afraid of arrest. Imran Khan's soldier is not afraid of such tactics. We did not come to do terrorism, I am ready to be arrested.”

Earlier, a large contingent of police Sunday arrived to arrest the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shahbaz Gill for moving around in the area with the Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The police said that they came to bring the FC personnel back, as the armed personnel were not allowed to move around in the area.

The police contingent was on the premises of a private cotton ginning factory for the arrest of Shahbaz Gill.

Imran Khan condemns Gill’s arrest

Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan has condemned the arrest of party Shahbaz Gill.

In a tweet uploaded on Sunday, Imran Khan said “I strongly condemn the illegal arrest of Shahbaz Gul just to scare the people and to rig the election. These fascist tactics will not prove effective nor will our people refrain from exercising their right to vote. The guardians of the imported government should realize the damage they are causing to our nation.”
