ECP nominates six judges for Senate election appellate tribunals

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has constituted five appellate tribunals to take up appeals against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers of candidates for the vacant seats of the Senate.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, Justice Saman Rift Imtiaz has been named as tribunal Judge for the Islamabad seats.
Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan is made appellate tribunal for Punjab seats.
Similarly, Justice Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry was assigned the Appellate Tribunal Judge for Sindh seats, Justice Shakeel Ahmed for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and
Justice Ejaz Swati and Justice Nazir Ahmed appointed Appellate Tribunals judges for Balochistan.
Election Commission has issued a notification in regard.
The senate elctions is scheduled to be held on April 2.
The scrutiny of nomination papers for elections on forty-eight vacant seats of the Senate will be carried out on Tuesday (tomorrow).
Revised list of the candidates will be issued on the 26th of this month whilst the candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by 27th of this month.
In the federal capital, members of the National Assembly will elect members of the Senate against one general seat and one seat for technocrats including Ulema.
Members of the four provincial assemblies will elect senators for seven general seats, two women seats, and two seats for technocrats including Ulema from each province, as well as one seat for non-Muslims from both Punjab and Sindh provinces.
