KSE-100 Index down by 137 points, dollar up by 31 paisas

The Pakistan Stock Exchange was suffering losses in early trading on Monday as the US dollar had so far gained 31 paisas against the rupee in inter-bank rate.
By the time this report was filed, the dollar was available for Rs160.40 against the value of Rs160.09 recorded on Friday – the last business day of the week.
On the other hand, the KSE-100 Index was down by 137.12 points and currently stood at 33,871.21 after starting the session from the previous level of 34,008.33.
At one point, the index had tumbled to 33,807.41 during a session during which a total of 84,126,562 shares were traded by 11:49am.
Amid the negative sentiments being witnessed at the market, the share prices of 147 companies had gone down and that of 104 made gains, while the value of 11 remained unchanged.
