Two children died of measles in Sindh province, 24NewsHD reported on Monday.

Measles affected four children of Dhakhan and Gaman Barohi in Shikarpur while two of them succumbed.

A health official confirmed last month that six children died of the disease while 122 children got infected with measles.

He said the department sent its teams to the area after several cases of measles were reported in children in Jacobabad, Thul, Garhi Yaseen and other towns.

Reports said the outbreak of measles cases was reported in northern Sindh districts of Jacobabad and Shikarpur on April 1.

More than 300 Pakistani children died of measles in 2012.

In 2018, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) joined the government’s campaign against measles and vaccinate more than 32 million children.
