The Punjab government has set May 20 as a date for auctioning of Sheikhupura property belonging to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura set May 20 for the auctioning of property belonging to PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif.
However, an applicant Ashraf Malik has challenged the announcement of the property auction date in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and maintained that he had bought 88 kanals from Nawaz Sharif for Rs750 million.
The petitioner said due to the arrest of Nawaz Sharif, the sale deed was delayed and now he has approached the civil court to sign the sale deed. He pleaded through his petition to stop DC Sheikhupura from auctioning Nawaz Sharif land.
On the other hand, the decision to auction Nawaz Sharif’s orchards in Lahore has also been challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The petitioner Aslam Aziz said: “DC Lahore is taking possession of 105 acres of land for auction. The investment in the garden has not been returned yet and there is a risk that my investment will be lost due to the auction process.”
He moved IHC to stop the auctioning of fruit orchards in Lahore belonging to Nawaz Sharif.
