Federal Minister for Water Resources Khursheed Shah said Wednesday that the government had decided to bring the electoral reforms bill in the National Assembly the following week, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

While talking to media in Islamabad, the federal minister said that electoral reforms needed to be introduced, adding elections could not be held without electoral reforms.

Shah said that elections were not possible till October or November, adding the election commission had demanded seven months for new elections.

“We will have to introduce electoral reforms. Some reforms will be introduced before the budget and some after the budget,” he declared.

Shah also said that no decision had been made to table a motion of no-confidence against the Senate chairman.

“Imran Khan is campaigning against the state, not the government,” maintained Khursheed Shah, adding the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was not consulted about contempt cases against Imran Khan.

“The government of Imran Khan was removed in a constitutional way,” Khursheed said, adding that Hamza Shehbaz had the majority of four votes in Punjab.
