Punjab issues new SOPs for commercial water filtrations plants

Punjab Food Authority has issued new SOPs for commercial water filtration plants for better quality of bottled water, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday. 

According to news SOPs, all units of bottled water will change filters every month.

Record and video of filter change made mandatory to upload on Punjab Food Authority portal.

Bottled water will also have to be tested monthly from an approved laboratory.

All units will have to change the filter by December 15 and upload the record on the portal.

The unit will be closed if the SOPs are not followed after December 15.

DG Food Authority said that labs are being set up in all divisions to test water and milk. 

He said water is our basic need so quality will not be compromised.
