Bid to smuggle 73 non-custom mobile phones foiled at Islamabad Airport

The Pakistan Custom Authority personnel conducted an operation at New Islamabad Airport on Tuesday and detained a passenger arriving from Qatar after foiling an attempt to smuggle mobile phones worth more than 10 million rupees, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per Custom sources, the passenger Umar Zameer reached Islamabad by flight QR-614 from Qatar. The custom officials stopped him at the International arrival hall and seized 73 mobile phones from his possession. Moreover, the passenger could not provide any tax details regarding 73 seized mobile phones.
“The detained passenger belongs to Chakwal and came from Dubai. A case has been registered against the accused Umar Zameer,” said Custom officials.
