Crackdown on illegal arms, aerial firing

A crackdown on illegal arms and aerial firing is in full swing in the Punjab capital, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Monday.

The Dolphin squad launched the operation following the directives of the deputy inspector general. The lawmen have so far arrested 21 accused of having illegal weapons and aerial firing a spokesperson for Dolphin.

A total of 15 pistols, six rifles, dozens of bullets and magazines were recovered from them, a Delphin spokesperson said. The accused were detained during the stop and search, the official added.

Dolphin SP Taqir Naeem said that indiscriminate actions against the display of weapons and aerial firing will continue. He reiterated his resolve to ensure law and order.
