Sofia Vergara's ex-husband confirms engagement to girlfriend
Joe Manganiello has officially confirmed his engagement to longtime girlfriend Caitlin O'Connor.
The 48-year-old actor shared a photo on social media of the couple holding their Chihuahua, Bubbles, with Caitlin, 36, proudly showing off a dazzling diamond ring. In the caption, Manganiello wrote “June 24th, 2025” alongside two ring emojis—revealing the couple has been engaged since June, nearly four months ago.
The announcement comes just hours after TMZ reported that the Magic Mike star introduced Caitlin as his “fiancée” during an event Thursday night. The couple was attending the San Diego Film Festival, where Joe was honored with the Career Spotlight award.
Joe and Caitlin were first linked in September 2023, just months after his split from Modern Family star Sofia Vergara was made public.
Caitlin, currently a correspondent for E! News, is also an actress, known for playing Dyan Cannon on HBO’s Winning Time, and for guest-starring in the series finale of Two and a Half Men.
Joe and Sofia married in 2015 during the peak of both their careers—Vergara with Modern Family and Manganiello with True Blood and Magic Mike. They publicly confirmed their separation in the summer of 2023, and within two months, Manganiello was spotted with Caitlin.
The couple reportedly met in a hot tub at an informal premiere afterparty for Winning Time, according to People, where they "talked the whole time." By December 2023, they made their red carpet debut at the 20th anniversary gala for the Children of Armenia Fund in New York City. Joe, who is one-eighth Armenian on his mother’s side, was being honored at the event.
Sources close to the couple describe them as a great match, saying they’re both “easygoing” and that Caitlin is “not high-maintenance,” adding that she “isn’t a big drinker or a party girl,” according to Us Weekly.
Earlier in 2024, Sofia spoke to El País about the breakup, saying she and Joe parted ways because he wanted children and she "didn’t want to be an old mom." Joe later responded in an interview, clarifying that they had tried to start a family for the first year and a half of their marriage. “I swore to her I would never leave if it didn’t work out. And I didn’t,” he said.
