Travellers have thronged PIA Town Office in Lahore after the airlines resumed its flights operation to Saudi Arabia, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Most of the Pakistanis coming from different cities including Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Kasur, Gujrat, Okara, Sialkot, Dera Ghazi Khan and Gujranwala have been frequenting the main office of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) near Punjab Assembly building but not a single traveller has so far succeeded in getting a ticket.
They were told that no ticket to any of the Saudi cities including Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, Damam, Riyadh, Tabuk and Taif was available. They said they have been visiting the office for four days but no one got any ticket and those who already had tickets are not being rescheduled.
A traveller said a ticket to Saudi Arabia is now available for $150 to 200 but the official rate is $100. “We are being insulted. Not even a token is being issued. No Help Desk has been set up. No one is listening to us. Other airlines have also raised the rate to $150-200,” he added.
