20-year-old bikes, autos included in PM fuel relief scheme

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed the immediate inclusion of 20-year-old motorcycles, rickshaws and Chingchi rickshaws in the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme.

Under the decision, all motorcycles, rickshaws and Chingchi rickshaws registered before January 1, 2006, will be eligible for registration under the scheme, allowing operators of these vehicles to benefit from the relief program.

Meanwhile, Ministry of IT said more than one million registrations have been completed so far under the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme, while over 800,000 tokens have been generated nationwide. According to the ministry, real-time monitoring of the scheme across the country is being carried out through a 24-hour control room. 

Punjab and Islamabad are leading in terms of token redemption, the ministry said, adding that the relief scheme is benefiting deserving people across the country.
