Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a “Super Long March” from Lahore to Islamabad against the petroleum levy imposed on fuel, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.

JI Lahore emir Ziauddin Ansari said a caravan would leave Lahore for Islamabad on the morning of September 23.

He said workers and members of civil society from every union council, street and neighbourhood of Lahore would join the march.

Ansari said caravans from across the country, including Karachi, Sukkur and Multan, would also head towards Lahore and then proceed to Islamabad as part of the protest.

He said the Jamaat-e-Islami would continue its campaign until the petroleum levy was withdrawn.
