Punjab CM inaugurates Pakistan International Auto Show 2026
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday inaugurated the three-day Pakistan International Auto Show 2026 at the Lahore Expo Centre, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
On this occasion, CM Maryam Nawaz met industrialists associated with the automobile industry and appreciated their contributions to national economic development. Industry experts praised her vision as exemplary.
Representatives of the electric vehicle industry praised the Punjab government’s Green Taxi and CM Bike Schemes, calling them significant initiatives.
Representatives and owners of tractor manufacturing companies also appreciated the launch of the Green Tractor Scheme, saying it had helped strengthen the local tractor manufacturing industry and promote local production.
During her visit to the auto show, the chief minister toured various stalls and inspected electric vehicles, modern cars, motorcycles and generators. She expressed particular interest in an electric ambulance and also inspected Suzuki’s biogas powered model.
Maryam Nawaz interacted with foreign experts at the Honda, Suzuki and other stalls and enquired about the displayed products. She also appreciated the quality of Made-in-Pakistan products.
PAAPAM Chairman Usman Aslam Malik, Chief Organizer Syed Nabeel Hashmi and others briefed the chief minister at the auto show.
The Pakistan International Auto Show 2026 is being held in four halls of the Expo Centre, with strong engagement from local and international companies. A total of 150 exhibitors, including 44 international and 43 local exhibitors, are participating.
Major auto brands, including Suzuki, Kia, GAC, Chery, Sazgar, BYD, G-Tour, Hyundai and Honda, have set up stalls at the show. Cars, motorcycles, electric and semi-electric vehicles, as well as locally manufactured auto parts, are on display.
Maryam Nawaz said Pakistan’s automotive industry is an important source of industrial development, investment, and employment.
Hence, she expressed that the Punjab government is committed to promoting local production, investment, technology and innovation.
The CM said the Pakistan International Auto Show 2026 would prove effective in promoting business linkages, investment and technology transfer.
