By-elections: Section 144 imposed from April 18 to April 22 

Section 144 has been imposed from April 18 to April 22 in the districts where by-elections will be held.

Under the section, a ban has been imposed on the display of weapons and firing.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced by-elections on six vacant seats of the National Assembly, 12 of the Punjab Assembly, two each of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan legislatures and the Sindh Assembly.
