Ayaz Sadiq says bringing US-Iran to negotiating table was a miracle
US, Iran delegations had to take breaks to cool down during first round of talks, says National Assembly Speaker
Asserting that bringing Iran and the US to a negotiating table was nothing short of a miracle, National Assembly (NA) Speaker and PML-N leader Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said on Sunday that there were moments during the first round of talks when the delegations of the two countries had to take breaks to bring down the temperature following an altercation between each other, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Barki Road in Lahore, the NA speaker said that the entire world had acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts to mediate between Iran and the US.
Praying for the longevity of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s partnership, Sadiq claimed that the country had been put on the path to progress.
He also claimed that the prime minister fulfilled the promises he had made to the nation.
The speaker said that not once during the last 70 years, such a large amount had been allocated for his constituency as the PML-N leadership had allocated now. “As many as Rs38 billion have been spent on my constituency during the last few months,” he added.
He was of the view that it was after the PTI government was removed through a vote of no-trust in April 2022 that Pakistan began to rise. “Especially ever since India tasted defeat at the hands of Pakistan that the latter started progressing.”
Sadiq said that Pakistan believed in friendship will all barring Israel and India. He said that even the PML-N held protest demonstrations but not once it attacked the government and military installations.
