Multan Sultans edge Karachi Kings in PSL thriller

Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings by 11 runs in the 28th match of the Pakistan Super League season 11 at the National Stadium in Karachi on Sunday.

Karachi Kings mounted a spirited chase but ultimately fell short, being bowled out for 196 in their pursuit of 208, a challenging target set by Multan Sultans.

Reeza Hendricks led the resistance with a well-crafted 49, while Abbas Afridi contributed a brisk 34 and Moeen Ali added 27.

Despite their efforts, Karachi’s batting lineup struggled to maintain momentum at crucial stages, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Multan Sultans’ bowler Arafat Minhas was the standout performer, claiming three wickets, while Peter Siddle chipped in with two key dismissals to derail Karachi’s chase.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Multan Sultans chose to bat first against Karachi Kings. The decision resulted in a strong total, driven by key contributions from several players.

Shan Masood led the scoring with 46 runs, while Josh Philippe added 44 runs.

Owais Zafar contributed 36 runs, and Mohammad Imran provided a quick boost with 26 runs from just eight balls towards the end of the innings.

For Karachi Kings, Khushdil Shah took three wickets, while Moeen Ali claimed two dismissals.
