Punjab War Book being harmonized with modern requirements

A very important meeting was held in the Home Department on the preparation of "Punjab War Book", reported 24NewsHD TV channel on 

A preliminary outline of a coordinated strategy for dealing with war and emergencies was presented in the meeting.

Punjab Home Secretary Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi presided over the meeting.

The Punjab War Book prepared in 1981 is being harmonized with modern requirements after 45 years.

The Defence Planning Wing of the Home Department gave a briefing on the role of 33 relevant departments in the event of a possible enemy attack.

The responsibilities of each department and institution are being clearly delineated in the War Book.

Briefing was also given on the necessary measures to protect important installations and the lives and property of the people across the province.

The meeting consult on strategies for protection and rapid response to missile attacks, drone attacks, or cyber-attacks in the event of war.

The meeting also consult on the features of the "Punjab War Book" in the context of the "War Book" issued by the Government of Pakistan.

In the meeting, laws for construction of safe bunkers and shelters in all residential areas came under consideration.

A detailed consideration was given to the aspect of protection of life and property of the people in Punjab.

It was briefed that protocols for securing important installations in case of war are being harmonized with modern requirements.

Divisional and district intelligence committees will be given powers to deal with any emergency situation.

Ensuring timely delivery of food and medicines is very important in emergency situations.

Mapping of existing resources in all districts will be completed soon.

All possible resources are being provided to Civil Defence for civil defence.

Hospitals and communication system will be kept fully functional in emergency situations.

Prevention of possible propaganda on social media and dissemination of authentic information were also discussed in the meeting.

Security agencies including District Administration, PDMA, Civil Defense, Rescue 1122 will be in full coordination.

Civil Defense was instructed to determine safe shelters across the province.

Control rooms will be activated in all districts under the central control room of the Home Department.

Additional IG Punjab Tariq Chauhan, Secretary Emergency Services Dr. Rizwan Naseer and Special Secretary Home Fazlur Rehman participated in the meeting.

DIG Special Branch Khurram Shahzad, Additional DG PDMA Jawad Haider and Additional Secretary Defense Planning Colonel Shahzad Aamir also participated in the meeting.

Additional Secretary Home Asma Cheema, Additional Secretary Foreign National Security Uzma Saleem, Consultant Major (retd) Mudassar Butt and Director Civil Defense Zaigham Nawaz were also present in the meeting.
