Five people were killed and eight injured when a passenger van plunged into a ditch in Khyber district on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The accident place in the Chhapri Orakzai area on the Bara-Akakhel border where the flying coach fell into the ditch. The eight injured included four women.

Rescue 1122 and medical teams rushed to the accident site soon after receiving the information. The injured after getting medical treatment on the spot were shifted to Dogra Hospital Bara and Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar.

Meanwhile, in a major operation, Bara police seized 50 kilograms of charas and five kgs of high-quality heroin. The police also arrested three accused including a foreigner.

The worth of the seized drugs is millions in the international market.
