PML-Q ensured minorities’ rights: Parvez

Pakistan Minority Community London members Father Mushtaq Azad and Babar Saroya called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi at his residence on Wednesday.
They discussed difficulties facing the Christian community including human rights and religious harmony during the meeting.
Ch Parvez Elahi said that people of all faiths enjoy complete freedom in Pakistan. The PML-Q launched welfare projects for the community during its tenure. Christians were given representation in the assemblies, their educational institutions were returned to the community, for the first time fully empowered Ministry of Minorities Affairs was established and proprietary rights were given to them in their kachi abadis, funds were allocated for repairs and maintenance of churches, he added.
Father Mushtaq Azad invited Ch Parvez Elahi for All Pakistan Communities Conference being held in Islamabad and appreciated his services for the community. He said that during PML-Q’s tenure, minorities were given their rights.
