Police officer shot dead in Karachi

A case has been registered in the CTD after a police officer deputed in the anti-vehicle lifting cell in Karachi's SITE area was shot dead by unidentified persons on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The incident occurred in Metroville area. The assailants opened fire at the 30-year old constable, Shiraz Khan, deputed at SSU and fled from the scene.
Contingents of police and Rangers rushed to the scene where the police found emptied shells of a 9mm pistol as well as the constable's gun.
The Sindh Inspector General (IG) of Police has taken notice of the killing and sought a report from SSP Kemari.
