Cloudy weather may affect playing conditions in today’s match

As all is set for the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy, 2025 to be played between Pakistan and New Zealand at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium today, the Met Office has predicted partly cloudy to cloudy weather for the port city, which may have an impact on today’s clash.

The Office has predicted that the weather will remain warm, while winds will blow from the west at the speed of 11 kilometers per hour throughout the day.

The maximum temperature is expected to reach 34 degrees Celsius later in the day.

The level of moisture in the air on Wednesday morning was recorded at 77 per cent.   

On the other hand, different parts of upper Sindh and southern Punjab received rain during the last 24 hours. 

Light rain in and around Uch Sharif turned the weather cold. 

Similarly, cool winds accompanied by light rain turned the weather cold in Sadiqabad. 

The rain brought smiles to farmers’ faces. They said that the wheat crop desperately needed the rain. 

Rain in Liaquatpur and its outskirts made the roads wet besides turning the weather pleasant. 

Farmers were ecstatic that the rain would have a positive impact on the wheat crop. 

Likewise, light rain and cool breeze in neighbouring Khanpur turned the weather cold.   

There was also thunder and lightning. However, the rain resulted in the suspension of the power supply to the city.  

Light rain, reported from Dera Bugti and Sohbatpur and their suburbs, turned the weather cold. 

The showers were accompanied by extremely cold winds due to which the mercury dipped. 

However, low gas pressure created a lot of inconvenience for the people.
