Asif Zardari, Fazl hold telephonic contact, resolve to meet soon

A telephonic contact was held between former president and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and JUI-F and PDM Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday. Both the leaders agreed to hold a meeting soon, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to sources, both Zardari and Fazl held a telephonic conversation and discussed affairs of mutual interests. They also chatted about the rapidly changing political situation of the country and resolved to hold a meeting for having a mutual consultation.
Meanwhile, the JUI-F Chief on Wednesday slammed the administration in Dera Ismail Khan for utilizing government resources in a bid to influence the mayor’s election in the area, calling upon the chief election commissioner to take notice of the government’s pre-poll rigging.
The Maulana was of the view that the government-approved development schemes worth Rs1.88 billion for DI Khan before the mayor election declaring the poll controversial.
The PDM chief said that the open use of government resources and administrative machinery before the DIK mayor election was tantamount to pre-poll rigging. He urged the election commissioner to take notice of it.
He said at the behest of federal and provincial ministers, the deputy commissioner approved Rs1.88 billion schemes for DIK and made the entire election process contentious. He said that the ruling party’s contender was busy buying conscious of people by utilizing limitless government resources and by selling dignity of government officers.
Maulana Faz deplored that except from TMA officials, all other administrative departments’ officers and workers were busy in running the election campaign of the PTI contestant. He said these officials were bringing disgrace to their offices and violating code of election. He was of the opinion that seeing the audacity of government officials, the sentiments of people were boiling against them.
He warned if the election commission ignored this pre-poll rigging, the JUI-F would take this matter to the court of people.
