Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned Secretary Education and Chairman Federal Education Board in personal capacity on a petition regarding errors in textbooks, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the petition of a female citizen on Thursday. The woman lawyer requested to monitor the curriculum and ensure the implementation of the Standard of Education Act.
The court expressed its indignation at lawyers of the parties, including the Federal Board, over failing to answer the court’s queries.
The IHC CJ said, “You people don't even know your case.”
A simple question has been asked, who designs the curriculum? the Chief Justice asked, adding that the petitioner has also said that she is unaware of the identity of those responsible for preparing the curriculum.
“If you don't know who is designing the curriculum, the the court should contact the secretary and find out,” the CJ said.
The court adjourned the hearing for two weeks after summoning the Secretary Education and Chairman Federal Board.
