The accountability court Thursday sent back the Thatta Water Supply Reference against former President Asif Ali Zardari to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) due to a lack of jurisdiction.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana issued the verdict after hearing the arguments on the petitions from Zardari's lawyer Farooq Naik on Thursday.
Farooq Naik argued in the court that the NAB reference was just a vindictive action against Zardari as under the NAB Amendment Act, the reference does not come under the jurisdiction of the accountability court.
Zardari's lawyer also appealed to the judge and said the accountability court should decide on the application according to the law.
The accountability court gave its verdict after hearing the arguments of the parties.
Ejaz Ahmed Khan, Ali Akbar Abro, Akhtar Durrani, and Ejaz Memon were also named as accused in the same reference.
