Indian’s cross-border love attempt ends in jail

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel caught a 20-year-old youth from Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch area, while he was attempting to cross over to neighbouring Pakistan to allegedly meet his girlfriend.

Hailing from Osmanabad in Maharashtra, the young man revealed that he had travelled nearly 1,200-odd kilometres to meet a girl from Shah Faisal Town in Karachi, Pakistan.

The man named Siddiqui Mohammad Zishan from Maharashtra, who is an engineering student, befriended the girl from Karachi’s Shah Faisal Town in Karachi on Facebook, said Indian media reports.

According to inputs, Mohammad Zeeshan was apprehended by the BSF about 1.5 km from the India-Pakistan International Border. When questioned, Zishan said that he was on his way to cross over to Pakistan through the Rann of Kutch.

Zishan went further to add that he was madly in love with a girl named Samra from Shah Faisal Town in Pakistan's Karachi. He claimed that he got to know Samra through social media and the two had been in touch on WhatsApp and Facebook.

BSF soldiers who apprehended Zishan said he wanted to go to Pakistan to be with Samra and was using Google Maps for navigation.
