Earthquake jolts Quetta, no damage reported
Mild earthquake tremors were felt in Quetta late on Saturday night, causing brief panic among residents, but no casualties or property damage were reported.
According to the district administration and the Seismological Centre, the earthquake struck at 11:27 pm with a magnitude of 4.0.
Officials said the earthquake originated at a depth of 15 kilometres, with its epicentre located approximately 37 kilometres northeast of Quetta.
The tremors were felt in different parts of the provincial capital, prompting some residents to leave their homes and workplaces as a precaution.
Authorities said there were no immediate reports of loss of life or damage to property, and the situation remained normal following the earthquake.
Officials are continuing to monitor the situation, while residents have been advised to remain alert and follow safety guidelines in the event of any aftershocks.
