A man was killed and eight others injured when a grenade exploded at the Ehsas Programme office in Karachi on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Unidentified attackers threw the hand grenade at the office situated in the Liaquatabad area of Karachi.

Police and rescue personnel rushed to the site and shifted the injured to the nearby hospital.

A heavy contingent of police has cordoned off the area and search for the culprits was underway.
