In a big action in SITE area in Karachi on Sunday, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police along with Rangers officials arrested a ‘most wanted’ terrorist of a banned outfit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Reportedly, in a joint operation in SITE area, the CTD and Rangers officials arrested terrorist Ilyas who belonged to disbanded Tehreek-e-Taliban.

The name of terrorist Ilyas was included in the most wanted persons list in the CTD’s Red Book. 

Ilyas was a close friend of terrorist Qari Shakir. He went to Saudi Arabia and hid there. 

CTD in-charge Mazhar Mashwani said that during investigation, the accused confessed to killing a man named Sher Ahmad in 2013. He also told the investigators that had joined TTP’s Umar Mansoor group in 2012, Mashwani added.
