Over 5450 cases pending before Supreme Court

Over 5,450 cases are pending before the Supreme Court of Pakistan, it emerged on Sunday revealing an increase in the pendency of the cases, reported the 24newsHD TV channel.

According to the latest fortnightly report of the apex court till June 15, the number of civil petitions pending in the Supreme Court reached 29557.

The number of pending civil appeals has increased to 9758 and the number of criminal applications pending in the apex court is 8915.

The report further states that the number of pending revision applications is 1,438.

The pending criminal appeals are 1,062 and there are 130 pending constitutional petitions, reports said, adding that 25 suo moto are pending in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
