Punjab govt fails to provide 100pc free medicine in public hospitals 

Punjab Government has failed to provide 100pc free medicine to all patients in all public sector hospitals, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday. 

According to the statistics, Punjab Dental Hospital was offering free medicines to only 39pc of patients. Ganga Ram Hospital and Lahore General Hospital were providing free medicines to 45pc of patients each. Mayo Hospital gave treatment to 54pc patient and Jinnah Hospital to 63pc. 

Punjab Institute of Neurosciences was offering free medicines to 69pc patient, Services Hospital only 70pc, Lady Aitchison Hospital 73pc and Lady Willingdon Hospital 74pc. 

Similarly, Children’s Hospital offering free medicines to 75pc of patients, the Punjab Institute of Cardiology to 76pc, Shahdara Teaching Hospital to 77pc, Mian Munshi Hospital to 80pc and Nawaz Sharif Teaching Hospital to 81pc. Jinnah Burn Unit giving free medicine to 81pc and Said Mitha Hospital offering free medicines to 83pc of the ailing patients.
